The life and times of a Broomite and the GM of the Broome Visitor Centre

Since moving to the land of pindan, white sandy beaches, dragon flies and Toyota 4WD’s over 2 years ago, my life is now a far cry from cultural Melbourne!  Don’t get me wrong I love Melbourne though living here in Broome constantly surprises and delights.

Just take the last couple of months for example, one minute enjoying fine champagne in a marquee at Broome’s inaugural Beach Polo event, the next knee-deep in mud catching live bait for non biting barras and dodging 12 foot salties up the mighty Fitzroy river!  In between all that action, add to that an explosively rocking INXS concert, fabulous fascinators & frocks  trackside at the Broome Races, sunset drinks at the beach & glorious weather…..Ahh Broome…..let yourself go!

It’s not too late to enjoy all of the above, the dry season will be here right through September and into October, so escape the cold and head north my friends.
By the way, Broome has just been selected as a finalist in the GWN Top Tourism Town Awards…..the staff and I are a little bit excited about that!
