Mowanjum Festival Date Change

Due to the unseasonal weather, the annual Respect Yourself, Respect Your Culture MOWANJUM FESTIVAL

Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre warmly invites you to the annual Respect Yourself, Respect Your Culture Mowanjum Festival on the 21st July.
Experience the unique art and culture of the Worrorra, Ngarinyin and Wunumbal peoples of the Western Kimberley, in this family friendly, alcohol and smoke free one day and one night event.
Festivities kick off at 2pm in the afternoon with workshops in dij playing, boab carving and other cultural activities. A major exhibition of Wandjina art will be held in the gallery, with all works for sale. This is a great chance for you to take home a real piece of the Kimberley.
At sunset, performances will get underway, and a magnificent series of corroborees will be presented. Last year over 100 dancers and singers aged from 2 to 83 performed.
This is the largest traditional corroboree that is open to the general public in WA.
Healthy and delicious food will be on sale including bush tucker.
Come along and have an authentic experience of Kimberley Aboriginal culture.

  • Tickets on the gate – $10 adults, $5 kids   - Gates open at 2pm.
