The US TV host will film two episodes of her program in Australia in December.Tourism Western Australia is still hopeful Oprah Winfrey will include the state, and in particular the Kimberley, in her Australian tour.
It is expected the exposure to Winfrey's worldwide audience of 80 million people will help boost tourism numbers.
The chairwoman of Tourism WA, Kate Lamont, was in Broome at the weekend and says while nothing is confirmed, she knows Oprah is fond of the region because of the movie 'Australia'.
"There is much anticipation that Western Australia will be one of the highlights of the shows that are being filmed in the Sydney Opera House and we know that when Tourism WA pitched with all the other states that there was much enthusiasm for our pitch," she said.
