Normally, Cable Beach is Broome's number one tourist attraction.
But the beach remains virtually empty and the only swimmer is a large crocodile, floating nonchalantly just behind the breakers.
Authorities have been monitoring the reptile for over two days as it slowly moves up and down the Broome shoreline.
The Department of Environment and Conservation have used a boat to try and discourage the crocodile from hanging around.
Broome waters are classed as a crocodile exclusion zone which gives authorities the option of trapping or destroying the normally protected animal.
It is hoped that the croc will move away from the popular beach to allow the resumption of frolicking of the human kind.
The crocodile is currently on it's 6th day of inhabiting Cable Beach.
