For a “small country town”, Broome sure does have a lot of local talent.
Last weekend we were treated to acrobatics, skill and laughter at Sandfly Circus’ “1-2-3-FUN!”. Reports from all angles were of talent, comedy and, of course, Fun!
October 6th – 8th, more local talent will show it’s head at the Broome Camp School for Marrugeku’s production of “Buru” – stories inspirsedby the six Yawuru Seasons.
Buru (dirt-land-earth; time-seasons-place) is a story which explores how Broome’s young people experience place, time and culture, in a story structure inspired by the six Yawuru seasons. Deftly combining contemporary dance, hip-hop, stilt dance and storytelling with original songs and music by the Marrugeku Mongrel Band, Buru is a rich reflection of life for young people in Broome.
